Welcome to the Website of the Diocese of Barbados.

HISTORY  IN THE MAKING

History was created in the Diocese of Barbados on Thursday, March 25th 2010, when the first Barbadian bishop to be elected Archbishop of the West Indies officially receive his symbols of office.

DSC00340_small.jpgAt a Service of Recognition held in theCathedral Church of St. Michael and All Angels, the Most Rev. & Dr. The  Honourable John Walder Dunlop Holder, received the Primatial Cross, the symbol of the Archbishop’s office,  from The Most Rev. Drexel Gomez, the retired  Archbishop of the West Indies.

The Church was full to capacity with local and visiting clergy and dignataries from across the Caribbean, America and England.

For all our friends who could not get to the Cathedral on that evening for the Archbishop's Recognition Service, there will be another opportunity for you to see the service from this site in a few days time.
