It is recorded that the lands on which the Church is built was given by T.R. Richards and T.C. Richards of Holders Plantation, St James. The building was completed about 1867 after the Vestry of St. James had organised a loan for its completion.
The Church was consecrated by Bishop Thomas Parry on March 15, 1870.

The season of Advent is like springtime in nature, when everything is renewed and so is fresh and healthy. Advent is also meant to do this to us ... to refresh us and make us healthy, to be able to receive Christ in whatever form he may come to us".
