St Martin's Church was built in 1859 and consecrated on July 26, 1860. The land on which it is built was acquired by Deed of Gift dated April 9, 1860, from Gabriel Gregory to Bishop Thomas Parry, and the Reverend Richard F. King, Rector of the Parish and their successors in office. The funds were raised by a grant from the Legislature, a grant from the Vestry and other subscriptions.
