Message FromSt. Matthias Anglican Church
The Rev. Canon DeVere Murrell

Canon DeVere Murrell

The Parish Family of St. Matthias Church in Barbados welcomes you to our website, and to our Church if you are ever on the island or if you live here and may be visiting.

St. Matthias has always been proud of  its simplicity of worship in the Anglican tradition and we continue to offer Holy Communion and/or Sung Eucharist every Sunday with Sung Mattins on the third Sunday of the month. Our Family Service, a non traditional worship experience,  takes place on the First Sundays and this is followed by Holy Communion.

We are at the moment planning celebrations for our one hundred and sixtieth Anniversary of Consecration (August 2009 – August 2010) and will post these as soon as they are finalised. We would be privileged to have you join us for any or all of these events.

One of the highlights of our Anniversary Year will be to bring on staff a full time Youth and Community Development Officer to strengthen our ministry to the youth and establish linkages with the surrounding community.

We would be delighted to hear from you through our guestbook, email or the post. Of course, you are also welcome to join our message board.

May God Bless you and yours.
