Getting To Know You
The Rector, Rev. Canon DeVere Murrell, and the Membership and Hospitality Sub-Committee of the Parochial Church Council hosted a "Getting To Know You Session" for new members of St. Matthias Church on Saturday, November 19, 2011.
The afternoon's session in the Church Hall was an opportunity for the new members of the Church to meet each other and to share in fellowship with some long-standing members. They were also provided with information on the various organisations in the Church and encouraged to join those that they believe thay can make a contribution to.
But it was not all serious business. In fact, fun and fellowship were the hallmarks of the afternoon, as participants got to play games and interact with each other. There was evening a group singing competition, which was judged by the Organist and Choirmaster, Mr. Keith Bourne; the Assistant Organist, Ms. Janaye Burgess and Musical Director of the Daybreak Singers, Captain Alfred Taylor.
The evening ended with refreshments and a chance for further social interaction.
